I start my day each morning with prayer, 5-10 minutes of meditation, journaling (includes planning out my day, things I love and am grateful for, goals, and general vibe of the moment), and a brief workout to wake up the body. Most days I then work out for the next two hours. I often get caught in checking emails thinking it's productive since it's work related. Which it is. But it still takes away from my time. I try to be in the moment so even if I'm checking emails I'm doing that and nothing else. When I workout, I'm doing that and nothing else. Sometimes there's crossover which is frustrating. Always a work in progress eh
In college I developed the ritual of calling my family (both sets of grand parent and parents so 3 40 minute calls) on sunday afternoon or evenings. Now I split it up and call either my mom or paternal grandma on Mondays at night or on my drive to work in the mornings.
